The Meet Up
Every Eurowerke Social Drive begins with anticipation, but this one carried a special kind of buzz. The carpark filled rapidly with an incredible variety of machines - from timeless icons to modern monsters. BMW was out in full force, with everything from an E36 M3, E46 330ci, and E82 135i to a plethora of G8X M cars - G80, G81, G82, and G83 - many in doubles or triples. Cheeky… but then again, what else do you expect from Sydney’s S58 specialist?
By 8:15am, the lot was overflowing, and we had to move ahead of schedule. Enthusiasts gathered in groups, talking builds, sharing coffees, and soaking in the sight of over a hundred cars lined up under the early morning sun. When the final count landed at 103 cars, it confirmed what we already knew: this wasn’t just a drive, it was a gathering of passion.
On the Road
With the carpark overflowing, the convoy rolled out in style, led by one of our own at the front of the pack. The sound was spine-tingling: straight-sixes, turbocharged fours, and even V8s filling the crisp air with music only enthusiasts truly appreciate.
Earlier in the week, heavy downpours left us nervous about the route. During a Friday test, potholes and roadworks threatened to derail the event. But by Sunday, the council had pulled off a miracle: potholes filled, emergency works completed, and a smooth tarmac waiting for us. Fortune was firmly on our side.
Fog & Flow
The Old Pacific Highway opened ahead, twisting through lush valleys and ridge lines. Low-hanging fog hugged the corners, creating a cinematic backdrop as headlights cut through the mist and taillights glowed like embers.
Turning left onto Wisemans Ferry Road, the drive took on a more dynamic pace. Freshly repaired roads allowed for smooth, flowing rhythm, and the group’s gratitude was clear - this was driving at its best.
The Ferry Crossing
The convoy wound its way through Spencer, regrouping at the ferry. Lined up along the riverbank, it was a sight to behold: a sea of BMWs, Volkswagens, Audis, and exotics waiting patiently to board.
Among the standouts were a Classic BMW E24 635CSi in green, a sleek McLaren 570S, a Porsche Carrera S, and a Maserati GranTurismo MC - all mixing seamlessly into the BMW family. A small pack of Volkswagen Golf GTIs and Rs added extra spice, even managing to fill an entire ferry load by themselves. Audi enthusiasts also made their mark, with RS3s, S3s, and A3s well represented.
What made this stop even more special was the blend of generations. Seeing long-time enthusiasts parked alongside a handful of P-platers joining in for their first social drive was a reminder of what makes our community thrive. It’s more than cars - it’s the passion being shared with the next generation of drivers and enthusiasts.
It took four ferry loads to move the entire group across, but nobody minded. Conversations flowed, cameras clicked, and the ferry became another stage for the spectacle.
The Final Stretch
Once across the river, the convoy regrouped for the fastest section of the day. With wide, clear roads, the energy lifted again - engines sang, gears shifted with precision, and the convoy carved its way back toward Sydney.
The drive wrapped up at The Vicar in Dural, where a well-earned brunch awaited. Tables filled quickly as plates of food and coffee made the rounds. Stories from the drive were shared, friendships were strengthened, and new connections were made.
Reflections & Gratitude
As the day wound down, the emotion was clear: satisfaction, gratitude, and pride. Satisfaction in the drive itself - the smooth roads, the dream-like fog, the ferry spectacle. Gratitude for the community of 100+ enthusiasts, who brought passion and energy to every kilometre. And pride - in the diversity of cars, the spirit of the drivers, and the way everyone came together to celebrate what unites us.
From the classic BMWs and Audi RS models to the exotics like the Ferrari 812 Superfast and McLaren 570S, every car had its place, every driver their story.
We’re thankful for the clear skies, the repaired roads, the safe passage, and most of all, the people who made it unforgettable.
